Moving Forward and Happiness

Share on:

Happiness is essentially a state of going somewhere wholeheartedly, one-directionally, without regret or reservation. -W.H. Sheldon

Hmmm – today’s Daily Positive Thought ties in so nicely with the Daily Positive Thought from Wednesday.  I kind of love it when that happens, and I hate it when that happens.  I hate it because sometimes it makes it challenging to blog about it.  Theoretically, I’ve said everything I have to say on the subject in the original post.  I love it when it happens because to me, that means it’s something I seriously need to focus on and work on in my own life.  Why else would I pick out two such similar quotes?

It’s not something I do with a conscious mind.  I look through my list of quotes for quotes and sayings that interest me, I think will work in my classroom and are generally 140 characters or less so they can be tweeted as well.  I’m generally not looking for a theme, so when it happens, I try to take notice 🙂

The other day, I blogged about a job I used to have and how I was so happy at one point that I literally felt like I was singing and dancing through my day.  I love my job now.  I love the kids that I work with and my co-workers, and I give it my best effort, but the days of singing and dancing don’t happen.  I think a lot of that is because now, I work closely with PEOPLE all day long and their moods impact me.  So even though I put forth my best effort and focus, I haven’t attained that former level of happiness, so obviously it’s something I need to work on.

Life is a process and life is about learning.  I don’t pretend to have the answers, I don’t even have all the questions yet.  But I’m going to keep moving forward wholeheartedly and see where it brings me.
