We all have a history. Some of us have a great past, and some of us, not so great. But our futures are NOT determined by our past. We all have an imagination and we all have the ability to envision a new and positive future, and the ability to make that future a reality. Don’t limit yourself based upon what was. Think about what may be.
I just had this very discussion not five minutes ago with a student who is struggling with basic math facts. It’s because of things that happened in elementary school he told me. These things made it so that he had not yet learned some basic math skills. My response to him was “BULL!” Forget about what happened then and study your math facts now. You are smart and capable and don’t need to get hung up with what happened in the past. Go forward from now and make those math skills your future.
It’s easy to get caught in the trap of what was will always be, but it doesn’t HAVE to be! You can change it
